Bio:I began my fire service career as an Ambulance Billing Clerk in February 2003 at Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire District. Being a fairly small department, I have had the opportunity over the years to add more and more duties, and now am involved in all aspects of Office Administration for the District.

I joined OFSOA almost immediately upon being hired at the District and attended training events whenever I could. I wanted to get more involved with OFSOA and began working on my Accreditation and also hosted my first workshop in 2012 with a great team of ladies from the membership. Completing the Accreditation was a big accomplishment for me and hosting a workshop was something I really enjoyed doing. I love that we have such a unique group with such a vast array of skills that we can call upon whenever we need help.

Bio: I began working in the fire service in August of 2003 after 17 years of experience in the private industry. Little did I know how rewarding a career in the fire service was going to be. I work at Polk County Fire District No.1 in Independence, Oregon as the Office Administrator. My responsibilities include all aspects of finance, payroll, budget, HR, support to the Fire Chief and Staff, and I oversee all office administrative duties.

After attending my first OFSOA event I was so amazed at how much support I received. Being new to the fire service I cannot tell you how much that meant to me, and it still does today. OFSOA is definitely an organization that provides resources and training for any aspect of our many jobs in the fire service, for which I am very grateful.

I have served on the Board of Directors as Treasurer for approximately 2 ½ years, and it was truly an honor to serve as your President for 4 years. The support, teamwork, and encouragement of the OFSOA members are invaluable both professionally and personally. Our motto "Sharing a Standard of Excellence" says it all!

Bio: I am fortunate to have more than 30 years of experience in the business arts. As a graduate of Oregon State University, the first 11 years of my career were spent teaching in both the public and private sectors. I have had the opportunity to develop and present curriculum for courses such as bookkeeping, keyboarding, electronic spreadsheets, business writing, and project management. From the realm of education, I moved on to providing administrative support and association membership services for an association management firm located in the Portland metro area. I currently work for the team that provides administrative support for the Oregon Fire District Directors Association and the Oregon Volunteer Firefighters Association.

I have had the pleasure of being a member of OFSOA for the past ten years. I continue to be impressed and amazed at the depth of resources and knowledge this organization has to offer. I’ve been pleased to be able to contribute to our goals by serving as the Registrar and the Chair of the Audit Committee in recent years. I feel very honored to serve as the association’s Vice President and find that I am in excellent company amongst this group of dedicated, compassionate professionals.

Bio: I started my career in the fire service in October of 2011 at Black Butte Ranch RFPD. While my time in the fire service has been somewhat limited, I have worked as a financial assistant in the private sector for many years. I graduated from Oregon State University in 2000, completing my bachelors in Business Administration and minoring in Economics. Coming to Black Butte Ranch has allowed me to expand my knowledge base even more and has opened a new world of opportunity of learning the public sector.

As soon as I started with Black Butte Ranch RFPD, my good friend Julie Spor told me about OFSOA. I joined the organization immediately, as she told me it would be a great resource especially for someone new coming into the industry. April 2012, I got to be a part of my first workshop and that is where I saw what a special organization this is. I’m excited about being involved with such a great group of individuals and serving as your Treasurer.
